Use of Technology/Floor Plan: Did the student create a color scheme using paletton.com? Does the color scheme from paletton.com match up with the colors they used on the rest of their design board? Looking at the student’s floorplan, is it easy to tell what kind of room they designed? (Ex. living room, bedroom, kitchen, etc.) Does the floorplan include all of the major, large pieces of furniture? Is the furniture well-organized in the space and is the design logical? The room should not feel cluttered and it should be easy to navigate.
Furniture/Decor: Did the student include all necessary furniture for the specific space? Does the furniture suit the room? Did the student include decor that matches their color scheme? Is the furniture and decor items printed from pinterest well-organized and easy to understand on the design board? 1-Point Perspective Drawing: Does the drawing look well-planned out? Does the drawing look finished? Did the student use the colors from their color scheme in their drawing? Are the proportions of the furniture in the room accurate? Is it obvious that the student used a vanishing point? Color Scheme/Concept: Did the student repeat colors throughout the room to create a sense of unity in their design? Are you able to identify the color scheme that is being used? (ie. analogous, monochromatic, complementary, neutral, etc.) Did the student use an accent color? Are the colors appropriate for the room that is being redesigned? Do the paint swatches and fabric swatches represent the color scheme on the paletton print-out? Craftsmanship and Organization Is the design aesthetically pleasing and nuanced? Was the floor plan and 1-point perspective drawing well-crafted? Nothing should look rushed or messy. Everything on the board should be placed in a well-organized way and it should be easy to see each part of the assignment. A word of advice: when you are drawing furniture, think about the furniture in terms of the basic shapes that are used to make each item. Draw the basic shapes first, details come later! Also, ask yourself these questions when drawing the furniture:
I would suggest watching this video from 13:26 on to see how to draw objects in 3-D. The woman in the video draws a bed and a dresser using 1-point perspective. |
