Please answer this question on the back of your kitchen floor plan poster before you hand it in to be graded. Your answer should be at least 10 sentences long.
Question: Explain why you made each design decision you did and explain how your design will benefit your client. For example, tell me: - About the flow of the space. - Why you put the furniture, island, or additional room where you did. - Explain why you put the appliances where you did (which formation did you use?). - Where did you place the light(s)? What lighting did you choose to use and why? - What colors, or materials did you choose and why? What kind of a design style did you try to emulate? - Explain the number of seats you included and why. Be specific! Answering these questions will help me to understand where you are coming from with your design so that I can give you the grade you deserve.

Once you finish the furniture collage and floor plan, answer the following questions. (Each answer should be at least 5 sentences long.)
1.) Describe the specific design decisions you made. What was your thought process behind making these decisions? (For example, explain why you placed the furniture in a specific location. Explain your use of color. Did you create a good flow in the space? Explain why you decided to create separate rooms or why you decided to add onto the house.) 2.) How will your design benefit Cheryl's family? Pretend you are speaking directly to Cheryl in hopes that she will be impressed with your design decisions. Be persuasive and explain why your design is best for her and her family. You may search for furniture at any of the furniture/home decor stores listed below:

The longest wall space has two windows that are evenly spaced and the adjacent smaller wall has one window as well. The larger wall that is adjacent to the wall with two windows has a door that goes to the kitchen.
Listed below are the exact dimensions of the space: Longest wall: 448 inches Wall with a single window: 192 inches Wall with door to kitchen: 256 inches Smallest wall: 64 inches Longer remaining wall: 272 inches Shorter remaining wall: 176 inches Window Length: 64 inches each Space between windows: 96 inches Width of the doorway: 42 inches Client: The client you are working with is a woman named Cheryl. Cheryl has a husband and two young children (ages 3 years and 4 years). Cheryl’s family also has a large german shepherd dog. Problem: Cheryl has contacted you because she is interested in transforming her living room to make it more functional for her family. At the moment, the living room space has minimal furniture. There is a 3 person couch facing the TV and a single bookshelf that is overflowing with books and DVDs. The problem that Cheryl has is that her two children have so many toys that they like to play with in the living room and no place to put them. Also, Cheryl would like to have more seating for guests in the living area along with a coffee table and perhaps a second book shelf. Lastly, she would like a space in the living room for her dog - whether it be a doggy bed or a cage. Your Assignment: Draw a floor plan that meets the needs of your client. Include drawings of new furniture in your floorplan. Also, include a collage of images of furniture and deocr that you plan on including in the space. You may either choose images from home design magazines or you may print images from the internet.
