For this assignment, you must create a sketch of a room using 1-point perspective by following the steps dictated in the youtube video down below. You may choose to connect your personal headphones into the computer to hear the instructions. If you don't have headphones, it's ok, just follow along without sound, step-by-step pausing the video as needed. You must use PENCIL ONLY as well as a ruler to complete this drawing. You have a choice of drawing on either white computer paper or grid paper. If it's easier, you may use a clipboard to put your paper on while following along with the video. The clipboards are located in my tall cabinet near the large printer. This assignment is not counting as a project grade but will be marked as either pass/fail as a participation grade. It is essential that you complete this assignment to prepare you for the large scale 1-point perspective drawing that we will be doing in the terminal of the school next week. What is 1-point perspective? It is an image that contains one vanishing point on a horizon line. It's a system for representing 3-dimensional objects and space on a 2-dimensional surface by means of intersecting lines that are drawn vertically and horizontally and that radiate from one point. This type of perspective is typically used for images of roads, railway tracks, hallways, or interior spaces. Did you ever have a vision for the bedroom of your dreams? What pieces of furniture might you choose to include in your bedroom? What size bed might you prefer to sleep on? What type of curtains would you like hanging from your windows? You should be asking yourself these types of questions while doing this assignment. First, using pinterest, create a board and call it “My Dream Bedroom”. You will be pinning all of the furniture and other home decor items to this board. In some cases, you may have to add the pinterest browser button to the internet browser of your choice whether it be Safari, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. Go to this website to see how to do it: https://help.pinterest.com/en/articles/add-pinterest-browser-button#Web After you’ve done this, you may begin shopping for items to include in your Dream Bedroom. However, I am giving you two limitations: a.) You may only shop at IKEA, Pier 1 Imports, and World Market ONLY b.) You have a set budget of $2,000.00 You must pin all items to your board that you wish to include in your Dream Bedroom. You must follow my website on pinterest.com so that I may view your “My Dream Bedroom” board. My pinterest is: www.pinterest.com/rachelr0855 Lastly, you must include a price breakdown showing how you are spending your budget. You must either create a table or create a spreadsheet and detail each item you are purchasing, how much each item costs, as well as the total amount of money that you are spending. For example: Tell me each item name and the price of each item Malm High Bed Frame $399.00 Malfors Foam Mattress $229.00 Hemnes Wardrobe $349.00 2 Hektar Floor Lamps $99.98 Items you should include:
At the very bottom, underneath all of the prices, you must include the total amount of money you spent. Remember, you cannot go over the budget of $2,000.00! Good luck! |
